“Come Back, I’ll Warm You Up” or “CBIWYU” is the debut EP from El Paso-based Para Rosa. The EP is a simple 9-minute collection of 3 songs and 1 intro. The songs are a simple and easy listen as they provide cute and sweet melodies like the 2nd track, Homecoming, and the acoustic pop song, I Wanna Be You. The songs have a very home-based production that helps add to the environment, too, bringing a comfortable listen. The tracks aren't all sweet, thou, with most of the lyrics being very sad and serious, with the tone being lost, for example, on I Wanna Be You the lyrics describe a wanting to understand a person. Many other lyrics are similar, but the final track is the most interesting one. It features a feature from Marii and is a jazz song with a beat switch, throwing off any inspections and making the song sound more alive than almost any. The track is very experimental in that way and can work, but it just depends on what type of listening experience you're having. Overall, with this EP, Para Rosa is still very much finding new sounds to explore and grow into. Below are links to the EP.
